A direct tax is paid by an individual or organization to the entity that levied the tax. Direct taxes include income taxes, property taxes, and taxes on assets.

Convenience Culture is the societal shift of valuing efficiency and utility over other metrics of value. Rejecting Convenience Culture means refusing to use delivery apps, limiting screen-time, choosing to help people move instead of hiring movers etc. It is a trend towards adding friction in the lives of people for the purposes of building community (e.g. helping your neighbors with their groceries, going out to eat instead of ordering in)
